GQ Men of the Year Awards 2016
Tate Modern, London.
6 September 2016.
The red carpet skimmed the smooth stone floor which led into the Tate Modern. Heels sparked the surface, dress hems graced the ground and designer suits emerged from the arrival of black cars. The night of the GQ Men of the Year Awards was finally here.
GQ asked us to create their 19th annual awards ceremony to celebrate their brand winners. We transformed the awards new venue, London’s Tate Modern, into a meticulous masterpiece. The red carpet guided guests into the Turbine Hall, lined with a model army wearing Hugo Boss suits and illuminated by GQ branding.
Guests relaxed in the luxury lounge on the Bridge sponsored by Hugo Boss as they sipped a treat of tequila cocktails from drinks sponsor Patron. Afterwards guests were led into the back of the formidable Turbine Hall, where they feasted upon a luxury dinner.
The London Gay Men’s Chorus opened the ceremony with a mesmerising David Bowie tribute. Two giant screens then rose to a smoke effect, revealing Breakthrough Solo Artist winner Jack Garratt, with a special performance.
Host Stanley Tucci took to the stage to congratulate award winners including Genius Ricky Gervais, International Man Chris Pine, Legend Michael Caine, Inspiration Billy Connolly, Woman of the Year Amy Schumer and Hugo Boss Model Bella Hadid.
Speeches were given, awards were collected and the guests moved through the impressive new Switch House into the after party. The electric vibes of the evening pulsed into the night as guests danced to the sounds of DJ Jodie Harsh under a giant glowing GQ.
