“An immaculately produced event.” – Knight Dragon

In 2015 a masterplan was approved for Greenwich Peninsula, setting out a bold vision for over 15,000 homes in 5 new neighbourhoods, a new transport hub, new schools, new parks and public spaces.

Central to this plan; the Design District. A vibrant cluster of buildings designed for independents from the creative industries.

When the time came for Knight Dragon to unveil its plans for this artistic hub, an exciting launch event was to be planned.

Held in the perfectly formed NOW Gallery, a press breakfast and panel discussion kicked off the day welcoming social influencers, lifestyle press, artists and investors to take part.

Experts from the Creative Industries Federation, Greater London Authority, Knight Dragon and NOW Gallery set out the vision for the Design District and outlined its importance to both London and the creative sector.

A model display filled the room, revealing the 9 award-winning architects chosen for the pioneering development.

Later in the evening the creative industry came together for a night of celebration combining street food, creative workshops and music from Horse Meat Disco.

A live illustration wall invited guests and local artists to create a mural which tattooed the glass gallery entrance. Local artists hosted ‘maker stalls’ using paper and leather.

The announcement featured heavily in targeted press including Evening Standard, Dezeen, Campaign and Architects Journal.

A partnership with Wallpaper Magazine and the launch of #KeepLondonCreative, supported by the Mayor of London, sparked continued conversation online.
