Greenwich Peninsula Launch

NOW Gallery, London.
17 September 2014.

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new" - Socrates

The first milestone of Greenwich Peninsula’s redevelopment, an area being impressively reimagined by Knight Dragon, began with the launch of the new NOW Gallery. Timebased were commissioned to design and produce the NOW Gallery launch party, making references to the start of this development in this vibrant new district.

Held at the Gateway Pavilion, under a canopy which swept overhead, the launch party took place outside on a beautiful late September evening for guests to take in the changing landscape of the Peninsula.

Social influencers, lifestyle press, artists and investors travelled to the launch in an array of personalised ways. Guests were sent a personalised Oyster card to travel by public transport, or if they chose, a boat from Embankment Pier which breezed along the Thames to the Greenwich Pier. The Greenwich branded boats, were stocked with champagne for guests to enjoy a relaxing ride to the party.

Giant LED screens showed an atmospheric video featuring ambient footage of water, skies, small snippets on the creation of the NOW Gallery and the plans for Greenwich Peninsula. Guests enjoyed the warm evening listening to ReviveHER, whilst sipping craft beer supplied by Meantime brewery and exploring a bespoke menu created by Stevie Parle from British restaurant Craft London.

As guests were guided by lit arches, the glowing START letters formed the backdrop to the party. Guests were presented with an etched translucent jigsaw piece which they were invited to add to an illuminated frame. As they put their pieces together, a backlit outline of the Peninsula formed.
