GM EUROPE: VAUXHALL CORSA WORLD PREMIERE LAUNCH

Client Feedback:
" a big THANK YOU for all your hard work...everyone here was delighted." GM EUROPE
“…this team completely rose to the challenge and made the entire London event a phenomenal success…one for the records.” GM EUROPE
Creative Event Brief:
Bell Pottinger and GM Europe asked Timebased to produce the first UK car launch for six years to mark the World Premiere of the new Vauxhall Corsa.
Event Planning & Approach:
Timebased turned the event around in 8 weeks, chose Old Billingsgate as a venue and kicked off the launch with a breakdance and beat box performance by Urban Strides followed by a spectacular helicopter reveal of the new Corsa in front of Tower Bridge and flown along the Thames. The new Vauxhall Corsa was dramatically delivered to the premiere down the River Thames suspended from a helicopter. The helicopter reveal was introduced by Grammy Award Winner Sean Paul who then performed a concert to 1000 fans, GM executives and the UK and European motor press.
Event Management Results:
The launch made front page of the Daily Telegraph – under the title “the lengths car companies go to get headlines” and also the Sunday Times along with TV coverage for the stunt. This was dramatically different to any other UK Automotive launches hence peaking media interest on the day prior to the opening of the Motorshow at ExCel. Stemming from Sean Paul’s performance at the event he went on to provide the sound track to the well known TV adverts with the “Cmons”, viewed all over the world.
