METRO: 'METROLAND' AGENCY PARTY

Creative Event Brief:

This was the third year that Metro were to host an agency party to thank all their staff and advertising & media agencies for supporting Metro. Over 1000 people were to attend and the party was to be heavily themed, embodying a creative concept to fit with the Metro branding. Key to the objectives was to create a party that is the ‘hottest ticket in town’ building up a vibe of exclusivity targeted for an audience between 20-40 years old. A club night in a central London location was desired with a line-up of well known DJs and entertainment throughout the evening.

Event Planning & Approach:

Being the third Metro Agency party managed by Timebased we aimed to surpass the high standards and expectations from previous years. Drawing from current movies Alice in Wonderland and Avatar, the creative concept of ‘Metroland’ was devised – an inventive, fun, weird and wonderful Metro world for guests to explore. Fabric was chosen as the venue to fit in with the club environment Metro was looking for and also to support the volumes of guests and styling required for the theme to give the party the ‘Metro’ twist. Different areas included an enchanted forest, spiral land, ‘mirror mirror’ room and a stairwell of illusions. Following Timebased’s suggestions the event was ‘invite only’ with a strict door policy requiring photo ID and a non-exchangeable policy. DJs chosen to perform were Tom Middleton, Joey Negro and The Nextmen all with a VJ package and moving 3D imagery that mirrored the Metro theme.

Event Results:

Metro were delighted sending a lovely bouquet of flowers and card to the Timebased office the next day. Numerous agencies who attended emailed Metro afterwards thanking them for the great night saying how much they loved the music, food and styling.
