GQ 30th Birthday Party

Sushisamba, Covent Garden, London. 29 October 2018.

An exuberant evening to celebrate 30 magnificent years of the inimitable British GQ. Coinciding with the launch of the brand new Sushisamba in Covent Garden. A restaurant with beautifully ornate decor and an enviable terrace, not to mention the mouthwatering array of canapes and cocktails.

Guests were escorted from cars to the impressive red carpet in the Covent Garden Piazza, where they posed for the press amongst giant GQ emblems and in front of huge GQ and Sushisamba logos on the full facade of the building.

Figures from all aspects of the entertainment industry arrived to celebrate GQ - sportsmen Anthony Joshua, David Haye, Tom Daley; musicians Paloma Faith, Professor Green, Tom Odell, Ella Eyre; actors Oliver Cheshire, Luke Evans and TV personalities Katherine Ryan, Reggie Yates and Claudia Winkleman. Plus many more, all dressed to the nines.

A photo studio allowed guests to be a cover star on the night, and take home their own printed magazine cover photograph. Others were taking home the napkins - printed with a limited edition illustration from guest Tracey Emin.

Jodie Harsh took to the decks to kick off the dance floor, which was joined by a drumming troupe, a gold robotic dancer and a Charlie Chaplin mime artist. Fabulous drag queen extraordinaire, Le Gateau Chocolat, saw the night out with a showstopping vocal performance, in the embrace of GQ editor Dylan Jones.
