London Fashion Week SS16: Sunglass Hut Tea Party

Monico Building, London.
19 September 2015.

Sunglass Hut had a bold idea of creating a punk inspired tea party. We developed the event to celebrate London Fashion Week in broody, elegant and grunge motivated style.

The venue was extremely important in bringing to life a distorted version of an English tea party, injected with punk inspired elements.  The event was held at the Monico building near Piccadilly Circus, on a decommissioned floor which reflected the theme, with its exposed brick walls, stained with graffiti and interconnecting rooms. Using the space for the first time, we decorated the derelict interior with bespoke bold purple graphics that were complemented with vibrant flowers and chic furnishings.

The event showcased Sunglass Hut products on unconventional metal framework, continuing the theme into the intimate press lounge, where the media and photographers could interview big names such as Drew Barrymore, Laura Whitmore and host Georgia May Jagger.

Congratulations on a fantastic event! Everyone is raving about how awesome it was.”

The pièce de résistance of the tea party was the intimate dining space, where guests could chatter over cocktails and bubbly whilst enjoying a deliciously moreish menu created by Bompass & Parr. The elegant black dining table was decorated with show stopping plump cakes dripping with chocolate and trays of glacier fruits, topped off with a tower of strawberry jelly.

Guests listened to an exclusive performance by punk royalty Brix & The Extricated as they enjoyed the afternoon in punk style. A quintessentially English tea party which had been dipped in gorgeous, slick Sunglass Hut fashion.
